We Built This Because It Needs Fixing
We’ve built a platform that turns commission calculations from an opaque administrative burden into a strategic tool that motivates sales behaviors, aligns compensation with long-term profitability, and delivers huge cultural wins through more trust and transparency. But how? And why?
In late 2025 we sat down our dealer friends and asked “What’s your biggest problem?”. Of course that answer can change upon the day (or even the hour!), but a consistent theme emerged:
“How can I get my people to think long-term? They still need to sell, but they’d make more and we’d be more profitable if we could get them doing the behaviors that set themselves up for long-term success.”
To which we responded “How are you paying them? Show us the pay plan, we’ll tell you the behavior.”
The flip side is a crazy stat from NADA: the average dealership spends 10x more on payroll than they do on advertising. Think about how much time, effort, employees, and money go into optimizing marketing spend to squeeze out as much profitability as possible.
How much time gets spent trying to optimize the largest controllable variable expense at a dealership, the one that costs 10x more than marketing? Hardly any.
Where does that leave us? Since we’re automotive software people, we couldn’t resist the challenge of bringing a killer solution to dealerships that brings ten times more value than managing pay plans in a spreadsheet.
The Team

Brice Englert
CEO and Founder
Brice has spent over 20 years in automotive software, starting with Dominion and all the way through TradePending. That last business scaled to thousands of rooftops before being acquired by private equity. He built Compfluence because he believes dealerships deserve compensation infrastructure that actually works, and because nobody should dread washout day.

Matthew Davis
Founding COO
Matthew spent 7 years as the TradePending CMO, building one of the most enjoyable, creative, and high-performing software brands in the industry. Before that he built a career spanning marketing, sales, mobile apps, and product development. He holds a US patent, has spoken publicly more times than he can count, and is the father of twins plus one, which may explain his unusual tolerance for chaos and competing priorities.

Eric Stanfield
Founding CTO
Eric has spent nearly 20 years building software platforms across a wide variety industries. Most recently he served as VP of Engineering at Spiffy, an automotive software company. At Compfluence, he is the reason the system stays up.

Aynsley Zulpo
VP of Sales
Aynsley has spent over 25 years in automotive sales leadership, holding executive roles at Cox Automotive, CallSource, and DealerOn. She joins Compfluence to bring that same dealer-first approach to compensation. She and her husband also own and operate numerous businesses in North Wilkesboro, NC including a brewery, a theater, and a restaurant. Settle down!

Falco
Chief Observer
Falco is Compfluence’s mascot when he’s not overseeing the team at Misfit Motors, LLC. He is all knowing and all seeing. His favorite music is anything by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. If you get that reference, you’ve got a keen ear for 1980’s movie soundtracks.
